Quinstreet purchased the killer insurance domain CarInsurance.com and related entities for $49.7 Million! This solidifies Quinstreet’s position as a leading online insurance marketing company and should give them a significant piece of the approximately $600 Million yearly online insurance market. It’s not clear how much of this price applies to the domain name itself, but presumably the domain has a significant valuation.
This is not the first time the marketing company has spent big money for domain names. This pushes the total amount paid for by Quinstreet to over $100 Million for insurance business domains, websites and related assets. They previously paid big money Insurance.com and Insure.com. Insurance.com sold for $35.6 million, while Insure.com sells for $16 Million (including content and other assets).
