The top domain sales of 2026 so far are Shop.com at about $99 million and AI.com at $70 million, the two largest publicly reported domain prices ever. Behind them come Club.com at $10 million, Green.com at $7.5 million and Clarity.com at $3.5 million. This running list covers sales reported through November 4, 2026, taken mainly from DNJournal's year to date charts and Domain Name Wire. We update it as new reports come in.

Three notes on the top of the list. Shop.com's price is read from Shopify's third quarter 10-Q, which shows $99 million spent on intangible assets but does not name the domain; Domain Name Wire says the figure could include acquisition costs. Market America, the seller, announced the completed sale on September 28 without a price, according to CircleID. AI.com closed in 2025 and was paid in cryptocurrency, but the $70 million price only became public in February 2026. Club.com also closed before it was reported. Top sales outside .com in 2026
The top sales outside .com in 2026 are led by .ai, which DNJournal counts with country codes. Bot.ai at $1.2 million is the only seven figure sale outside .com this year.
| Domain | Price (USD) | Venue | Month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bot.ai | $1,200,000 | Sedo | March |
| Genesis.ai | $400,000 | DomainBooth / Atom.com | April |
| Lotus.ai | $400,000 | Brandforce | February |
| Act.ai | $375,000 | Spaceship | October |
| Free.ai | $350,000 | Atom.com | April |
| Liquid.org | $300,000 | Atom.com | October |
| Neo.ai | $275,000 | DomainBooth / Atom.com | May |
| Symphony.co | $180,000 | MagnumDomains / Afternic | July |
| On.org | $145,000 | Sedo | April |
| Prism.app | $120,000 | TopDomains / Afternic | January |
Liquid.org is the largest sale this year in a non-.com generic extension, and .xyz shows up several times lower on DNJournal's gTLD chart, led by Aqua.xyz at $100,000.
Trends in 2026 domain sales
The main trend in 2026 domain sales is that a few giant deals sit on top of a market of mostly six figure sales, with AI names everywhere.
Two deals, most of the money. Shop.com and AI.com together come to $169 million. The other 19 sales in the table add up to about $35 million. Do not read the headline numbers as a market-wide boom. They are two companies, Shopify and Crypto.com's co-founder, buying the exact word for something they already run.
.ai keeps climbing. As of DNJournal's report for October 5 to 18, the 2026 year to date top 100 held 40 .ai names. DNJournal notes that no .ai sales made the top 100 in 2019 and 23 did in 2025. Most are short dictionary words, which is what AI startups want. Our guide to .ai domains covers cost and renewals before you buy one.
.si arrives. The same DNJournal report listed OpenRouter.si and Staffing.si at $50,000 each, the first sign of resale money behind the .si registration boom. Two sales are not a market yet.
The floor is higher. A report cited by DNJournal found the cheapest sale on the year end top 100 rose from $59,999 in 2019 to $99,888 in 2025, and the 2026 list already requires at least $100,000. For contrast, when IPO.com sold for $500,000 in 2010 it was only the 10th domain that year to reach $500,000. In 2026, 21 sales had reached that mark by early November.
Short brandables still sell. Twig.com, Zano.com, Goka.com and Stan.com are the kind of short, pronounceable names that filled DNJournal's weekly charts in 2011, when we counted eight short brandable sales in one week's top 20. The prices are higher now. The appeal is the same.
New venues. Atom.com and Spaceship appear all over the 2026 charts beside Sedo, GoDaddy and Afternic. If you plan to list a name, our guide on how to sell a domain name compares them.
Where people go wrong with lists like this is reading them as typical prices. These are the top reported sales out of millions of names. Many big deals are never reported at all, because buyers insist on privacy.
Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest domain sale of 2026?
Shop.com, at about $99 million, based on Shopify's quarterly filing. The biggest price stated outright by a party to a deal is AI.com at $70 million.
Where do these numbers come from?
Mainly DNJournal, which publishes a top 20 every two weeks and keeps year to date charts, plus Domain Name Wire for company filings. Sales count only when they are reported and the price is public.
How many domains sold for $1 million or more in 2026?
Eleven on DNJournal's chart through November 4, from Shop.com down to HighLevel.com at $1 million. Private deals could add more.
What was the top .ai sale of 2026?
Bot.ai at $1.2 million through Sedo, reported in March.
How often is this list updated?
We update it after DNJournal's reports, which come out every two weeks, and when a filing reveals a new price.
What to watch for the rest of 2026
With two months left, the 2026 order at the top is unlikely to change unless another company filing turns up a hidden price, as Shopify's did. Watch for year end filings from public buyers, more .ai names in the six figures, and whether .si resales go beyond a couple of $50,000 deals. If you hold a strong one word .com, this year shows the buyers with deep pockets are out there, but they come through brokers and on their own schedule. Check back here after DNJournal's next report.
